Paul and Liz were both born in Hull, East Yorkshire. Their early lives meant that they grew up in families rich in tradition and music.

Moving the South Yorkshire in the eralry 1970s their track record includes singing in clubs and festivals around the UK and abroad. They have collected songs, music and dances in Yorkshire and have published several books on these subjects.

Paul was editor of 'English Dance and Song' the quarterly magazine of the English Folk Dance and Song Society. From 2002 to 2005

In 2021 Paul and Liz were awarded the prestigious Gold Badge of the Society
